About Word Communion Church
Established on February 27, 2021, by divine direction. Rooted in Ilorin, Kwara State — and growing to impact the world through the power of God's Word.
Our Mission
To bring men to the knowledge of God's revealed truth, nurture Christlike Character, and equip them to serve God and humanity with excellence and compassion.
Our Vision
A generation of men transformed by faith, rooted in the scripture, manifesting the likeness of Christ on earth.
Our Mandate
Raising strong, spiritual and prosperous generations — men and women who reflect Christ in their homes, work and community.
Restoration Is Our Focus
We exist to bring every man into deep understanding of scriptural revelations while intentionally forming Christlike characters. Our focus is restoration — raising men who are renewed in mind, rooted in the Word and restored to God's original image and likeness.
Through teachings, discipleship and accountability, we are building a generation that manifests the likeness of Christ in their homes, work and community.
Our Core Values
Scriptural Truth
The Word of God is our final authority in all things. Every doctrine, decision and direction flows from Scripture.
Christlike Character
Integrity, humility and discipline shape every man we form. We pursue the image of Christ intentionally and consistently.
Godly Image Restored
Every man returns to his original design for dominion and purpose — restored to God's image and likeness.
Faith & Accountability
We grow through faith in Christ and relationships that sharpen us. Community and accountability are non-negotiable.
Manifestation
We move from learning to living — reflecting Christ in every sphere. Faith must produce visible fruit in our lives.
Meet the Founders
Pastor Dare Owoyemi
Lead Pastor & FounderA Life Surrendered to God's Call
Pastor Dare Owoyemi is the Lead Pastor of Word Communion Church — a devoted servant of God and a seasoned Bible teacher with a passion for raising believers who are firmly grounded in God's Word and equipped for effective Christian living.
He surrendered his life to Christ on March 15, 1992, and has remained committed to serving God through discipleship, teaching, leadership, and ministry ever since. His Christian journey has been marked by consistent dedication to spiritual growth and service within the Body of Christ.
Pastor Dare holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Ilorin and a Master of Divinity degree from United Missionary Theological College. From his active involvement in the Fellowship of Christian Students during his secondary school years, to serving as Bible Study Secretary of the Unilorin Christian Union, and later the Nigerian Christian Corpers' Fellowship during his National Youth Service in Taraba State — his commitment to Christian leadership has always been evident.
In 2010, following divine direction, he relocated to Ilorin where he combined private business with faithful ministry service. On February 27, 2021, Word Communion Church was officially inaugurated and Pastor Dare was entrusted with the vision alongside his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Bunmi Owoyemi.
A Partner in Vision and Ministry
Dr. (Mrs.) Bunmi Owoyemi stands alongside her husband as co-founder of Word Communion Church, bringing a unique anointing, scholarly depth, and a heart for ministry to the leadership of this growing movement.
Together, they share a unified vision — to see a generation of men and women transformed by faith, rooted in scripture, and manifesting the character of Christ in every sphere of life. Her support and active participation remain central to the ministry's growth and effectiveness.
